Futon Bunk Bed

Get A Futon Bunk Bed To Maximize Your Kids Play Space

For those of you with multiple children (or just one space-challenged child) who are dealing with space limitations, there is some help out there.  Instead of filling up your children’s room with mattress upon mattress, why not get a futon bunk bed and do away with all the clutter?  For maximizing play space, storage space and sleep space, the futon bunk bed makes perfect sense.

The flexibility and usefulness of this kind of bed are why they have become increasingly popular in the recent past.  Typically, a traditional mattress is used on the top bunk along with and easy to fold futon for the lower bunk.  With one of these, you can instantly free up a lot of space in your child’s bedroom and add a comfortable sitting area for friends and siblings alike.  And with the wide-spread availability of this type of bed and its price accessibility, it makes more and more sense to furnish your little one’s bedroom with one of these.

The most common futon bunk bed has an easy to put together metal frame.  Most of them can be assembled in an hour’s time or less by using very basic tools.  Depending on where you shop, your bunk bed may or may not include the upper bunk mattress, but will typically include the lower bunk futon.  You should be aware of this distinction when doing your comparison shopping.

For an idea on how much you should expect to spend for something basic, take a look at the Dorel futon bunk bed frame.  For just a bit more than $200.00 you can convert your child’s bedroom into a multipurpose play, sleep and study area.  The frame includes the futon, but the mattress must be purchased separately.

If you want more design features incorporated into your bed, you can expect to pay a little more.  As an example, consider the Powell model 938-199 Country Pine twin futon bunk bed.  It combines attractive pine posts and pine accents with a strong tubular metal frame construction.  The top bunk is made to be outfitted with a standard size twin mattress.  This model also gives you the added flexibility of separating the bunks to from two separate beds.  You’ll pay between $500 and $600 for this comfortable, space-saving solution.

An interesting offshoot of the futon bunk is the futon chair, work station, bunk bed combination.  This gives your child his or her own homework area in addition to a chair and fun sleep space.  An example of this is the black finish metal bunk bed with accompanying futon desk chair, desk and CD rack made by Visiondecor Furniture.  For less than $500, in many locations, you can pick up this all-in-one bedroom solution for the kids.

As you can see, the futon bunk bed in all its forms can provide you and your children with some creative bedroom options.  Clear out the clutter and reconfigure the room with one of these today.
